A recent graduate of Memorial University with a focus in Violin and true fiddle player at heart, Rosemary Lawton has played in a number of local groups including the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, the MUN Chamber Orchestra, the Celtic Fiddlers,

The Hugh Scott Band, Open Highway, the Derina Harvey Band, and more. Because of these strong associations with both traditional and classical music, Rosemary’s music takes on a “fusion” of both genres, with a constant hint of classical in her traditional arrangements and compositions.

Her voice is reminiscent of the high soprano celtic singing of Ireland but with a punch. Her brand new EP “Painted Glass” takes on a classical tinge of traditional Newfoundland, Scottish and original tunes creating a blend of old and new.
